MONO presents a curated selection of artworks which focus on the visual power of a restrained colour palette, the potency and immediacy of black and white. Through the sparing and at times deliberate use of limited colour, these works draw attention to tone and composition; to form, texture, mark making, and technique. Many of the works in this show focus on a single subject, or concept, which is echoed by the simplicity and strength of the monochromatic palette. Rich atmospheres are created through light and shade, balance, and texture, and as a result we engage directly with subjects, themes and symbolic meaning.
